Meta now requires users to verify their age to use its Quest VR headsets

Meta is implementing age verification prompts in its Quest VR store to provide appropriate experiences, settings, and protections for users of different ages. Users of Quest 2 and Quest 3 will be asked to confirm their age by reentering their birthdays, with teenagers having their profiles automatically set to private and parents having control over which apps their preteens can download. Meta plans to require app developers to identify their intended age group and has launched user age group APIs to report if users are too young for certain apps. These efforts aim to enhance online safety for users of Meta's platforms.
