TRAI ensures no delays in OTP deliveries amid new traceability rules

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has reassured the public that essential Net Banking and Aadhaar OTP messages will not be delayed starting from 1 December. TRAI introduced new regulations to improve message traceability and combat cybercrime. The deadline for implementing these measures was extended to 30 November due to technical challenges faced by telecom providers. TRAI has stated that these new requirements will not affect the speed or reliability of OTP deliveries, ensuring uninterrupted access to banking and identification services. TRAI has also reported a decline in spam call complaints thanks to strict directives implemented in August 2024.
