India to be $1 trillion digital economy by FY28: IT minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar

India's digital economy is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2027-28, growing at a rate of 2.8% annually, according to Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The value of the IndiaAI mission will be increased from Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 20,000 crore. The target of reaching the $1 trillion milestone was initially set for 2026-27, but has been pushed back due to various factors including the Covid-19 pandemic. Chandrasekhar emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision in driving India's growth as the fastest-growing digital economy in the world.
