Leverage Has Declined, It's A Good Sign: Ex-Banker As MTF Book Shrinks By Rs 15,000 Crore Since January

Since January, the MTF book has decreased by Rs 15,000 crore, dropping from ₹86,500 crore to ₹71,500 crore. This significant decline includes a reduction of Rs 5,000 crore in the last week alone. Despite this recent shrinkage, the MTF book had grown from ₹7,100 crore in February 2020 to ₹25,700 crore by March 2023. Concurrently, the Sensex and Nifty indices saw slight decreases, with mixed foreign and domestic institutional investments.
