Online gaming companies to slow spends during cricket world cup

The online gaming industry, particularly the fantasy sports segment, is expected to reduce spending during the upcoming cricket ICC Men's World Cup due to the impact of the amended goods and services tax (GST) law. The law, which will be effective from October 1, will subject online real money gaming companies to a 28% levy on the full face value. This is causing industry executives and media planners to hold back on spending for the event.
