‘Shielded Email’ on Gmail could soon let you use temporary addresses

Google is reportedly working on a feature called "Shielded Email" for its Gmail app, aimed at countering spam and protecting users' primary email addresses. The feature would allow users to create temporary or limited-use email aliases that forward emails to their main address for a certain period. This would provide users with a safer way to sign up for apps without the risk of sharing their primary email address. The details of the Shielded Email feature were discovered in a teardown of Google Play Services APK.
