X vows to 'robustly challenge' Australia order to remove stabbing posts
Economic Times

Social media platform X plans to challenge an order from an Australian regulator that mandates the removal of certain posts related to the stabbing of a bishop in Sydney. The Australian eSafety Commissioner demanded that X remove the posts or face a daily fine of A$785,000 ($500,000). X argued that the order exceeded the scope of Australian law and is preparing to challenge the decision in court. The regulator is considering further regulatory action. The bearded bishop, known for his controversial views, was allegedly stabbed by a 16-year-old boy who accused him of insulting Islam.
