People+ai partners with 24 tech organisations to enable open cloud compute infra

Bengaluru-based initiative people+ai, led by EkStep Foundation, has announced a consortium of 24 organisations joining the Open Cloud Compute (OCC) project. The partner organisations, including AMD and Oracle, will act as providers or customers with a growing need for compute. OCC aims to build a network of interoperable micro data centres in India, bringing compute power closer to users. This initiative aims to democratise access to cloud compute and create a mega compute network by uniting numerous independent providers. The interconnected micro-cloud computing infrastructure aims to enhance discoverability and utilisation of compute resources.
